Ineos Grenadier Recall

The Ineos Grenadier, a 4x4 vehicle, has been recalled due to a defect in the exterior door handles. The issue arises when the release button on the door handle remains depressed after the door is closed, causing the door to open while the vehicle is in motion.

This defect has led to a recall of over 7,000 vehicles in the US. Ineos has stated that the issue is due to an insufficient application of grease to the door handle mechanism. The company will replace the faulty parts free of charge.

In the UK, Ineos has not issued an official recall, but the company has stated that any affected vehicles will have the mechanisms replaced free of charge during their next routine workshop visit. The exact number of affected vehicles in the UK is currently unknown, as Ineos is still in discussions with the authorities.

This recall comes at a bad time for Ineos, as the company has recently registered a loss of around £1.1 billion in 2023. The launch of the fully-electric version of the Grenadier, the Fusilier, has also been delayed until 2028 due to a lack of infrastructure and consumer confidence in EVs.
