Polestar 2 Update

The Polestar 2, the all-electric car from Sweden, has just received a light update to keep it competitive in 2025. Chief among these changes is a new audio system from Bowers and Wilkins, which uses a 14-speaker set-up with a power output of 1,350 Watts. This sound system is available as a £1,800 option on all versions and features a ‘Tweeter-on-top’ for improved clarity and ‘Continuum midrange speakers’ to minimise distortion.

In terms of visuals, the latest Polestar 2 comes with a new ‘Dune’ exterior metallic paint finish and fresh five-spoke 20-inch forged alloy wheels, which are part of the £5,000 ‘Performance Pack’. This pack also alters the car’s software and chassis tuning. The cabin layout remains unchanged, except for the infotainment system, which now responds quicker to inputs thanks to a new processing chip.

Charging has also been made easier with the addition of ‘Plug and Charge’ technology, also seen on the new Polestar 3. This technology allows drivers to plug in at a public charger, with the car initiating and authenticating the process, removing the need for multiple charging apps.

Michael Lohscheller, Polestar CEO, expressed his excitement about the updates, stating that the company's first EV continues to receive numerous enhancements with every model year introduction. The newly-refreshed Polestar 2 is available to order now, with prices starting from £43,160 for the Standard range Single motor version, £47,160 for the Long range Single motor, and £50,160 for the Long range Dual motor.
