The Mercedes CLA with EQ Technology is set to be one of the most important new electric cars revealed in 2025. Its impressive range and efficient technology make it a strong contender in the electric vehicle market.

Key Features and Specifications

The new Mercedes CLA250+ with EQ Technology can achieve up to 491 miles on the WLTP cycle, thanks to its big battery pack, highly efficient e-motor setup, and ultra-slick aerodynamics. The car also features a two-speed transmission on the rear motor, allowing for punchier acceleration at low speeds and more effortless cruising at high speeds.

The CLA is available in two variants: the single-motor CLA250+ and the dual-motor CLA350. Both models have a range of technical innovations, including an 800V electrical system, super-fast 320kW charging, and a heat pump as standard across the range.

Design and Interior

The new CLA's design is a natural evolution from the previous model, with a swooping roofline, sleek windows, and frameless doors. The car's lighting is also noteworthy, featuring a complex front lighting arrangement with a lightbar stretching across the car's nose.

The cabin is completely new, with a digital experience dominated by a huge pane of glass housing the driver's display, main touchscreen, and optional passenger screen. The infotainment system is brand new, with a responsive and easy-to-use interface.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The new CLA features a range of driver assistance and passive safety tech, including MB.Drive assist with level 2 autonomous driving functions. The car also has a lane change function, with an optional MB.Drive Plus system integrating automatic overtaking in later models.
