Infinix's Solar-Powered Innovations

Infinix, a Chinese phone brand, has unveiled two innovative concept devices at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). The first device features an integrated solar panel on the back, while the second device comes with a solar charging case. Both concepts utilize Infinix's SolarEnergy-Reserving technology, which leverages perovskite solar cells to generate power.

The perovskite solar cells used in these devices are thinner and cheaper to produce than traditional silicon solar cells. Additionally, the technology incorporates a Maximum Power Point Tracking system to regulate voltage and maximize power output while managing heat. This ensures that the device remains cool and functional, even when exposed to direct sunlight.

The solar-powered phone can charge at a rate of up to 2W, which is intended to supplement the device's reserved charge when not in use. The solar charging case, on the other hand, can be swapped out for a regular case when desired, making it a convenient option for users who want to take advantage of solar power during the day and switch to a standard case at night.

Infinix has also showcased its second-generation color-changing E Ink phone, which now runs on the device's internal battery power and offers more customization options, including the ability to set the color palette based on a photo or the weather.
