Larry Page's New Venture

Larry Page, co-founder of Google, is reportedly building a new company called Dynatomics that focuses on applying AI to product manufacturing. According to The Information, Page is working with a small group of engineers on AI that can create highly optimized designs for objects and have them built in factories.

Chris Anderson, previously the CTO of Page-backed electric airplane startup Kittyhawk, is running the stealth effort. This move is not surprising, given Page's history of investing in innovative technologies. Dynatomics is not the only company exploring the use of AI in manufacturing. Other companies, such as Orbital Materials and PhysicsX, are also working on AI platforms to improve manufacturing processes.

Orbital Materials is creating an AI platform that can be used to discover materials ranging from batteries to carbon dioxide-capturing cells. PhysicsX provides tools to run simulations for engineers working on project areas like automotive, aerospace, and materials science. Instrumental is leveraging vision-powered AI to detect factory anomalies. These advancements have the potential to revolutionize the manufacturing industry and make it more efficient.
