Bluesky's Latest Updates

Bluesky has announced two significant updates: the ability to upload videos up to three minutes long and a new filter for direct messages (DMs) that helps users manage messages from people they might not know.

The updated video feature is a notable improvement from the previous one-minute limit, giving users more flexibility in expressing themselves. The new DM filter, called 'Chat Requests,' allows users to approve or reject messages from unknown users, providing an additional layer of control over their inbox.

This feature is similar to Message Requests on other platforms and will appear as a banner at the top of the user's inbox. By tapping into it, users can find messages from unknown users and decide whether to approve or reject them. Bluesky also provides context by showing if the person trying to message the user is followed by anyone they are following.

Furthermore, Bluesky has made it easier to mute accounts by adding the option to the three-dot menu beneath someone's post. This streamlines the process, as users no longer need to navigate to the user's profile to mute them.
