Introduction to Alienware's New QD-OLED Gaming Monitors
Alienware, Dell's gaming brand, has unveiled a new version of its 34-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor, boosting the refresh rate to 240Hz. This updated model, known as the Alienware 34 Ultra-Wide QD-OLED Monitor (AW3425DW), offers improved connectivity with HDMI 2.1 FRL and adds G-SYNC, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and VESA AdaptiveSync certification.
The AW3425DW features a WQHD 3,440 x 1,440 resolution and a 1800R curve, providing a 21:9 gaming experience. Although not as sharp as 4K, this resolution is still a significant leap ahead of 1080p. The monitor is available for purchase starting today at a price point of $800.
Additional QD-OLED and LCD Models
In addition to the AW3425DW, Alienware has introduced other QD-OLED models, including the 27-inch 280Hz QD-OLED Monitor (AW2725D) and the 27-inch 4K QD-OLED Monitor (AW2725Q). The AW2725D combines QHD resolution with a high-speed 280Hz refresh rate, allowing for sharp, high-quality visuals and a smooth gaming experience. It is available at a reasonable price point of $550 and is set to arrive in summer 2025.
The AW2725Q boasts a 240Hz refresh rate and the highest pixel density of any OLED or QD-OLED monitor, according to the company. It is available starting today for $900. Furthermore, Alienware has unveiled four new LCD monitors, including 34- and 32-inch curved VA monitors with 180Hz refresh rates, priced at $400 and $320, respectively. Both of these models will be available starting March 6th.
Notably, Alienware has also announced a 25-inch 320Hz monitor available for just $250, which is set to arrive in summer 2025. This monitor provides pro gamers on a budget with a very high-speed option, albeit with a smaller screen size.
